Clonea-Power Flood Defence
Waterford City and County Council
Due to regular flooding of the River Clodiagh, we were contracted to provide various types of flood defence systems to local properties. As part of alleviation measures, a new 600mm storm pipe was taken from the village, downstream and terminated in a new headwall back into the River Clodiagh. A range of flood defence systems were used, such as; clay embankments, proprietary fence panels, removable barriers and concrete reinforced walls with water bar. All reinstatement works were completed to new footpaths, road surface and soil reseeded. All pipe outlets had non-return valves and flaps installed on completion.
